Editorial Policy

This policy explains how Servers.Lease selects, researches, reviews, updates, and corrects its editorial work.

Editorial Scope

Servers.Lease publishes practical guidance about renting and operating dedicated servers. Our core subjects include server selection, capacity planning, network and location decisions, SLA and support evaluation, deployment, migration, monitoring, backups, recovery, and routine operations.

Each article should answer one primary reader question. We avoid combining unrelated search intents or expanding a guide into a general infrastructure textbook.

Evidence and Sources

We use sources when a claim depends on an external standard, provider commitment, technical specification, legal requirement, research result, or current product behavior. Primary sources are preferred: official documentation, standards bodies, provider terms, and original technical material.

Sources are included because they support a specific statement, not to make an article appear more authoritative. Routine operational recommendations may not require an external citation, but they should be presented as recommendations rather than universal facts.

We do not invent test results, quotations, vulnerabilities, software versions, prices, performance figures, or provider commitments. Estimates must be recognizable as estimates, with their assumptions stated when those assumptions affect the conclusion.

Technical Review

Before publication, an article is checked for:

  • a clear reader question and infrastructure context;
  • accurate terminology and internally consistent recommendations;
  • realistic operational constraints and failure modes;
  • separation between facts, estimates, and editorial recommendations;
  • unsafe or incomplete procedures that could create avoidable production risk;
  • working links and sources where external verification is required;
  • overlap with existing Servers.Lease coverage.

A checklist is not considered useful merely because it is long. Steps should appear in a defensible order and explain what constitutes a successful result.

Commercial Independence

Editorial coverage is not sold to hosting providers. A company cannot purchase a favorable conclusion, inclusion in a guide, or removal of a justified criticism.

If Servers.Lease later uses sponsorships, affiliate links, supplied infrastructure, or paid partnerships, the relationship will be disclosed clearly on the relevant page. Commercial arrangements must not determine technical conclusions.

Provider References

A provider may be named when its public documentation provides a concrete example of an SLA, support boundary, bandwidth term, hardware policy, or operating procedure. Readers should verify the current terms for the exact product and location they intend to use. Provider documentation can change after an article is published.

Corrections

Substantive factual errors are corrected in the article. When a correction materially changes the recommendation or interpretation, the page should also receive an updated date or a correction note that explains the change.

Minor edits for grammar, clarity, formatting, or broken links may be made without a correction notice when they do not alter the meaning.

Updates

An updated publication date should indicate a meaningful editorial change, such as revised technical guidance, new source material, corrected procedures, or a material change in provider terms. Dates should not be changed solely to make old content appear new.

Use of Automation

Automation may assist with drafting, formatting, research organization, or editorial checks. It does not remove the requirement to verify factual claims, remove unsupported assertions, check sources, and ensure that the final article provides useful guidance for its stated reader.

Feedback

Readers who identify an error or an important omission may contact the publication through the site’s contact channel. Useful reports should include the affected URL, the statement in question, and a primary source or reproducible technical evidence when available.
